Coaches Code of Behaviour
- Remember that people participate for pleasure, and that winning is only part of the fun.
- Be reasonable in your demands on players’ time, energy and enthusiasm.
- Ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate to the age and ability of the players.
- Develop team respect for the ability of opponents and for the judgement of officials and opposing coaches.
- Follow the advice of a physician when determining when an injured player is ready to recommence training and competition.
- Keep up to date with the latest coaching practises and the principles of human growth and development.
Coaches assist athletes in developing to their full potential. They are responsible for training athletes in a sport by analysing their performances, instructing in relevant skills and by providing encouragement.
